Alright...so...I have had some requests (okay, let's just say it, Shauna asked) that I show some pics of my FHE brothers. Well, I have pics of four of them, the other two weren't able to come this week. But here they are! I love them all, they're all amazing, and I love them all! Oh, and the best thing ever, their apartment is ALWAYS clean...they wash their dishes immediately after use. :) Attractive quality, I must say. Oh, and they can all cook. The other day, Joe brought us a pie. :) Ya, that's right. They're pretty dang awesome.
This is Scott. 26, communications major, SO much fun, plays percussion and records albums for work. He's great!
Mikey...not sure how old he is, pretty sure he's the baby of the apartment though, and way funny. He's always just super nice. He's soooo smart too!
This is Joe. He's 26 or 27, always beats me in our races, and has "shiny pants" for karaoke nights. He's great, and we all love him.
This is Greg. He's 25, so funny. He's going to be a doctor, make the big bucks, and he's so cool. And not too bad looking...that was for Shauna :)
A long time ago As I held a broken heart I promised myself I would never again start
The game called gambling With so much to lose My emotions on the table For him to use or abuse
Told myself it was safe This one wouldn’t hurt We were only playing Thought I was an expert
I placed some in the pot Enough to keep him betting But I kept calling his bluff And I started forgetting
To my heart it was more More than one night My heart started hoping This time would go right
As he pulls me close He’s so good at pretending It’s almost like he too Wishes this wasn’t ending
But tomorrow I’ll wake up I’ll whisper his name And then I’ll remember It was only a game
This Man, Jesus
They said “He’s nothing special, A carpenter no different from another. Who is he to preach to us The doctrines of the Father?”
They said, “He’s just a healer, Using tricks, not power divine. Who is he to forgive sin? He’s crossed the blasphemer’s line.”
They said, “He’s only a magician. Walking on water and calming the storm. Who is he to command Earth and Heaven? There’s illusion behind miracles he performs.”
They said, “He cannot rule us. Only liars say He’s great. Who is He to be our king? His words have sealed his fate.”
They said loudly, “Crucify him!” Pushed Him up Calvary’s hill, Drove nails through his hands and feet To fulfill His Father’s will.
Who is this man, Jesus? To them he was just a man. But to me he’s so much more Because I understand.
I say He is my Savior, My prophet, priest and king. He is my light in my dark, My peace and joy He brings.
I say he is a brother, A councilor, a friend. The only one who knows me, My advocate at the end.
Who is this man, Jesus? The triumphant one above. He gave his life to save mine. To me, Jesus is love.
Petals on a Daisy
She looks down at her daisy Petals white as snow She’s scared of what she’ll find But she just has to know
“He loves me, “ she says softly As a petal hits the ground The suspense is almost too much Her heart begins to pound
She plucks another petal And holds it in her hand She only thinks those awful words As she drops it to the sand
She smiles as she plucks a third Begs for the companionship of fate It’s about time something went right She prays it’s not too late
And she so quietly continues She has to know if it’s all pretend Her heart stops beating suddenly As she reaches the very end
So fate has passed her by again Without giving her a shot The last petal flutters in the wind As she whispers “he loves me not”
Time Heals All, My Foot
This is another poem I have written. I was reviewing some oldies but goodies and thought this one was pretty funny. And for the record...I still don't believe the whole "Time heals all" thing :)
Maybe I’m just bitter And feeling rather small But it doesn’t matter what you say Time does NOT heal all
Usually I try to trust But judging the months past The biggest lie I’ve ever heard Time does NOT go fast
Unable to move or breathe Slowly sinking down Calling for someone, anyone Time just watches me drown
The hole in my stomach grows I’m holding it together I’m stuck here in this situation Time holds me here forever
Let’s throw time to the flames Watch it turn to soot And all of Time’s lies with it Time heals all, my foot
